Rhossili Down 11.30a.m 1st summer fem Woodchat Shrike showing well The bird seems to favor the gorse area which lies c.10m west of the telegraph line which runs parallel with the track, opp. the green shed. It seems settled feeding away, so hopefully it will sick around til the weekend.
2 Green Sands this morning on a pool near the road from Old St Mellons to Cefn Mably, near Began Farm. (just outside Cardiff and in Gwent). 1 day past the solstice and its autumn already ! 4 sightings Honey Buzzard yesterday at the usual place & Wood warblers at Pont nedd Fechan.
RGW (TTV): 40 spp. recorded. Highlights include Little Egret (4), Med Gull (2, ad sum. & 1st S.), Knot (1), Green Sandpiper (1), Whimbrel (27) & Cetti's Wbr. (1). Good numbers of Redshank & B-h Gulls still present locally.
Cracking prolonged views of 3 Bunnys drifting about the valley, flying so close together they could have been flying for the red arrows. As one was a female you have to wonder why it isn't breeding. Good views also of Gos, Spar, red kite and Hobby elsewhere. All in all a raptastic day

Newton Rd. nr. Middle Newton farm. No sign of any CB at site mentioned. The only species singing/present were goldfinches & a male reed bunting!
