Have you ruled out Barrow's Goldeneye? Surely with the string of recent massive rares and oddities being found by the good chaps of the GBC, this must surely be a Barrow's.

Report of Quail calling on Wentloog Levels, Cardiff late afternoon/early evening. No calling heard in area between 8 - 9.15pm. However 2 Green Sandpipers, Little owl & a Hobby were observed between the Rhymney and Newton rd.

Leps: Ringlet, Red Ad., Painted Lady, Small White, Large White, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Comma & Small Tortoiseshell. Note: Coastal fields this year have been planted with wheat & barley so should make excellent stubble once harvested.

Sea watch (1 hour ) from Rhymney Great Wharf (Cors Crycydd) this morning produced 3 Gannets and 6 Manxies, all down channel.

There was apparently a Brown Headed Cowbird in a South Pembs garden recently which was suppressed.
No apparently about it Maurice.It was there at least 4 days ago and photographed.TWAT!!

Sea watch from R G Wharf (Cors Crycydd) 8.40 to 9.45. 52 Manx down channel, 1 adult Med gull, 1 Comon Sand and 3 Whimbrel.
