Lavernock Point/LNR: Seawatching was very poor (again) with only a Fulmar and a Common Gull (1st W) the highlights. On the reserve and at the point there were Chiffchaff (3), Blackcap (5), Lesser Whitethroat (1), Whitethroat (18), Swift (2) with the highlights being a singing Garden Wbr. (1) and a rather mobile Spotted Flycatcher. Cardiff Bay: Swift (c200), Sand Martin (c50), Tufted Duck (6) & GCG (9).
Garw Forest, 2 pairs of woodwarbler nest building also at least 3 singing males, 3 pairs of tree pipit and at least 7 singing males, pair of kestrels, male cuckoo,male Redstart, Raven with almost fledged young. Plenty of displaying Siskin and a couple of groups of Crossbill , juvvys present

400 House Martin, 80 Swallow, 20 Swift, 2Sand Martin - Sewage Works, Llangynwyd, Maesteg. According to mapmate this is the biggest spring gathering of House Martin in Glamorgan since Kenfig Pool 8th May 1978 (500 birds)

Cardiff Foreshore: Seawatch from WTW produced lots of gulls (LBB/Herr) and nothing else. However a stroll along the beach past the motopark was much more rewarding with Dunlin (53) and a brick-red sum plum Curlew Sandpiper. Also Sky lark (1) & Whitethroat (3) around the scrub areas.
Coed y Bedw this morning. male Redstart in second field back, also one heard. Male Pied Fly along west end of lower track by the very muddy bit. Tree pipit heard only.
Not a sighting but a prediction of one. During the next dry day or two I predict either Sid or 49 will have a Honey Buzzard in the Llynfi valley and it will be yet another single observer sighting
1st year pale phase male Honey buzzard with a two colour (red over pale red) ring on left leg and a flower basket hanging from the right leg over Maesteg at 03:87 this morning.

Dunlin 80+, Bar-tailed Godwit 2, Knot 5, Sanderling 6, Wood Sandpiper 1, Little Egret 1.
Sunday 24th - Worms Head
Plenty of Guillemots and Razorbills on the head but no Puffins. Also Fulmar & Kittwake.
Monday 25th - Goldcliff late afternoon.20+ Dunlin and apart from usual suspects not much else.

Garwnant/Coed Taf Fawr: redstart, spotted flycatcher, tree pipits, siskins, red kite, and a wood warbler responding frantically to recording.
