Ogmore River: Goosander (4). Ogmore-by-Sea: Purple Sandpiper (2) & Wheatear (2).
Ty'n-y-caeau Farm, Marcross: Yellowhammer (22) & Reed Bunting (7). No sign of any Tree Sparrows in the area!

2nd rookery in Pontcanna, 3 nests so far, whereas the 1st one seems to have expanded to 9 occupied nests. Time will tell whether either of the localities will be sustainable.

Common Sand at Hendre Lake this morning along with a fall of Blackcaps, Willow warblers and Chiffies.
No revelations like at the holy water though.

Yesterday a red kite was circling above main road opposite the rockwool factory at heol y cyw.
At kenfig NNR a pair of short-eared owls hunting over south of reserve.
Iceland gull at ogmore rivermouth and again at portobello today.

lavernock 17:00-18:00 3 chiffys and 2 blackcaps.

Cosmeston 18:15-19:15 atleast 10 chiffys,2 willow warbs,7 blackcaps and 4 swallows.

Cardiff Bay - Lesser Scaup from boardwalk with 35+ Tufted Ducks. A few Teal lingering still.

A migrant Twite would be coming through about now with the migrant Linnets - perhaps you are unaware of these?
Honey Buzzard seen today at Gibraltar? still got a long way to go!
Eagle well Taffs Well was the last report of the escapee that has been around Glamorgan for the last six months - so maybe just anothger sighting - you need to get out more!

2 common sands 200m upstream at blackweir, river taff. Early Purple Orchids were in flower along the foreshore adjacent to Longships Road and a good stream of swallows all moving east along the coast. No red rumps though.

Sub-alpine Wbr. at Newport wetlands, Uskmouth. Found this am and present til 16.30 at least. In scrub area past the small copse (turn from main path at 2nd pair of pylons thru small copse) several hundred metres past centre towards seawall.
