Sid's just texted: another escaped Yellow-browed Warbler at Llangynwyd sewage works. Directions to site are as follows: Turn right at Baghdad, continue downhill until you've gone through Helmand province, then take the second turning literally just before you get to Hades and you'll only have Nantydumplon to get through before you arrive at the Llynfi valley's greatest birding hotspot.
Cheers R.But the bird is really at SS879881 and will be looked for again tomorrow. It showed up until dusk between the fence and the river on the east side of the sewage works and you can get there by turning left at the crossroads in Llangynwyd (if coming from Bridgend) and driving past the Tylers arms until you see a metel barrier.park here and go over the barrier to the gate, jump over the wooden fence to the left and look around the trees by the double lamp post just inside said fence.
Randal, you should be very careful about taking the piss as one day you might just get stripped naked and tied to the nearest Holly tree and whipped with some honeysuckle
Yellow browed warbler still showing well ay Llangynwyd seawge works this morning. Also Goosander on the river,up to 3 Chiffchaff and plenty of Holly and Honeysuckle.
YBW still showing well round 11.30 this morning. Also a few Chiff's and Goldcrest there too. Dipped the Goosander! Thanks to the above members for the help.
I see the Council have nailed some notices to the posts at the bottom end of Cors Crychydd reen about the coastal path they're about to make which will run from the notices down to the Gwent border, whats wrong with the path that's already there? If access is made easier it will attract the wrong sort, as well as the disturbance it's bound to cause wait till you see the fly tipping and all the other shit which will come with it.
Walked around Lamby lake,Cors Crychydd reen,Rhymney est and along the Wharf to the Gwent border and saw "FUCK ALL" except for a single Barwit and a few Water rails,i'm seriously thinking of giving it up...lifes too short.
There are also signs by the county boundary Rob indicating that the path will continue to the Gout. The only saving grace is that there is at present no easy vehicle access. Big problems will start when they finish tipping and landscape the area. Don't despair, have a break and start again after Xmas !
Sea levels rise? Not another numb nuts taken in by this global warming crap. Wait till they start hitting you with carbon taxes then you won't be able to afford to go anywhere, unless you walk
Cosmeston CP - Drake L. Scaup back on east lake this morning. As I was leaving some boys aged 50+ were setting up there toy boats for sail, so it will prob be back down the bay later today.
Probable little egret on the islands at Roath Park Lake this afternoon (4.30) - too dark for a 100% id. Also white-fronted and barnacle geese, pochard, tufted ducks.
