Aberthaw - High Tide this evening -Whimbrel(2), Ringed Plover (4). Also Raven (2), and singing Willow Warbler, Blackcap and Chiff Chaff.

They've been looking up again, so this is just a quick 'heads up' on this one but ######'s seen a Black Kite over St Donats. No news either way on what it was followed by. If all CBC members could look up tomorrow it'd be appreciated.

Pond-dipping at Heath park with the sproggs, 1 female Great-crested newt,dozens of Palmate newts and a broad bodied chaser.

Swift 50+, Sand Martin 5+, Cormorant 20, Pied Wagtail 15+, Rock Pipit, Meadow Pipit,Reed Bunting, Oystercatcher 2.

Storm Petrel definite 3 maybe up to 6 depending on counting methods. Ditto Manx Sherawater - a good 1000+ birds lingering/flying past. Sandwich Tern 1 (+ 2 before I got there), Kittiwake 2, Gannet 10+, Fulmar 10+

A Pair of Pied Flycatcher fledged 7 young from a Kenfig made nestbox in the Llynfi valley on the weekend.Pair of Spotted fly breeding in Maesteg park.Sid

While Moth Trapping tonight had - Little & Tawny Owl, Nightjar, 2 Grasshopper Warbler and overhead - Redshank and Oystercatcher going south - all in the Llynfi Valley
